Antique - English Copperplate Engraving of Robert Boyle - Early 18th Century

An early 18th century copperplate engraving of The Honorable Robert Boyle (1627-1691). Robert Boyle was an early Engish philosopher and an important 17th century chemist. This antique engraving comes with a black matte - this engraving is not framed. Engraver initials - R.W. - in the lower right corner. The over-all condition of this antique item is good - it appears that the engraving has been cut down from its' original size - adhesive tape to the back of the engraving - foxing to the paper - no tears - no repairs. Size of paper - 3 7/8"W x 5 7/8"H. Matte Size - 7"W x 9 3/4"H.
