Vintage framed oil painting on masonite panel by Canadian artist PAT McNAUGHTON - artists' label and title on the back Blue Rhapsody - painted circa 1980. This original artwork is contained in a vintage frame. The over-all condition of this pre-owned vintage item is excellent - no loss - no damage to the painting - the frame has minor scuffs that come with age and use. Size of artwork - 11 1/2" Wide x 16" High. Frame size - 17" Wide x 21" High x 1 1/2" Deep.

GIOVANNI FRANCESCO BARBIERI - The Daughters of Guercino - 18th Century Engraving

Rare antique - 18th century - original stipple engraving on heavy paper after the great 17th century Italian Baroque artist GIOVANNI FRANCESCO BARBIERI 1591-1666 (also known as GUERCINO) - titled The Daughters of Guercino in the Dress of the Country Near Bologna - circa 1772. Most likely engraved by Francesco Bartolozzi in London in 1772. Titled in pencil at the bottom on the paper backing - The Daughters of Guercino - dedicated in pencil - from C.C.J. The over-all condition of this antique item is good - the engraving has been cut down from the original paper size to an oval - one straight edge cut in the paper (as photographed - not noticeable when framed - could be restored) - over-all foxing to the paper - partially applied with adhesive to an old paper backing (paper backing with foxing) - otherwise in fine antique form. Size of image - 9 1/2"W x 12"H. Mounted size - 10 1/2"W x 13 1/2"H.

Antique - early 19th century - Canadian watercolor sketch on early paper - indistinctly initialed by the artist - very faint 1811 in pencil in the lower right corner. The over-all condition of this pre-owned antique item is good - with one small 3/16" tear in the paper at the top/centre (as photographed) - minor loss to the lower right corner (as photographed) - ripples in the paper (noticeable on the back only) - over-all the paper is fragile but in good condition. EDMOND MALASSIS (1856-1941) - Listed French Artist - Carennac 1938 - Watercolor
 
An extraordinary architectural watercolor painting on paper by French listed artist - EDMOND MALASSIS (1856-1941) - signed by the artist in the lower right corner and titled CARRENAC - also dated 1938. It is a partial view of an historic building in the medieval village of Carennac, France in the Dordogne Valley. The painting is done on a very thick - quality - hand-made paper. The watercolor is attached with adhesive tape to a paper matte using the same colors as the painting - possibly produced by the artist. On the back of the matte is an inscription proclaiming it to be a gift from the artist's wife in 1966. On the back board is another inscription identifying this artwork as payment for legal fees from the artist's wife in Paris - 1966. The painting is framed in a vintage - simple profile - gesso and gilt frame. The over-all condition of this pre-owned vintage item is excellent - there is a chip in the upper left corner of the frame where the gesso and gilt finish are missing (as photographed) - painting, matte and backboard are loose in the frame. The water-color is in exceptional condition, absolutely no fading or staining. Size of paper - 6 1/4"W x 9 3/8"H. Frame size - 9 3/4"W x 13 1/4"H x 1/2"D.
